WELCOME
Howdy!! We appreciate your stopping by to visit our home on the web, and for your interest in our Purebred Nubian dairy goats. We hope you enjoy scrolling through all the pages, and looking at our herd. The "Around the Farm" picture page, will give you a glimpse of our farm, and hopefully brighten your day. We are located just west of the community of Slidell, in North Central Texas, on 164 acres of rolling range land, with scattered timber, and various wildlife, including deer, wild turkey and quail. It is also home to a herd of Registered Beefmaster cattle, and our faithful guard dogs. We are about 35 miles south of the Texas/Oklahoma state line, and a little over an hour northwest of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
My family started in dairy goats in 1958, when as a young child, I had to have goat's milk because of chronic allergies and Asthma. You can find more information on the "Our Story" page. My husband and I, along with our son and daughter, started our own herd of dairy goats in 1984, and we are Life Members of the American Dairy Goat Association. Our goal is to produce dairy goats that will milk well, be structurally correct, and live long, healthy, and productive lives. Although we only attended a limited number of shows each year, our animals were always very competitive in the show ring.
As of 2016, we have retired from showing, and have cut our herd numbers considerably. We will continue to breed a few quality animals, using the genetics that we have kept.
We strive to keep a healthy herd, using only necessary vaccinations, strategic de-worming and coccidia prevention. Our "entire" herd is CAE negative, and tested annually, through Washington State University or BioTracking. We gladly provide CAE Tests Results for buyers to see. The herd is CL (abscess) free and also G6S normal, tested or by inheritance.
We have just received our 2018 CAE TEST RESULTS, and our herd remains 100% Negative.
Thanks again for stopping by, and y'all come back!!!
